The Lower Bottom is a hellish space modeled on the formal organization of Dante’s Inferno. While the Inferno creates a world that reflects the worst fears of the medieval Catholic subconscious of Dante’s time, the Lower Bottom is a critical dystopia composed of multiple layers that speculate on the darkest contemporary human spirituality.
